From Raw Material to Finished Goods
From Raw Material to Finished Goods
Every product that leaves our factory has passed through a rigorous, documented manufacturing process. This article walks you through the journey from raw material to packaged finished goods, using our barbell plate production as a representative example.
The 9-Step Manufacturing Process
Step 1 — Raw Material Preparation
Rubber granules, iron powder, and binding agents are weighed and blended according to formulation sheets. All incoming materials are inspected for density, purity, and moisture content before release to production.
Step 2 — Mixing (Banbury / Open Mill)
The blended compound is fed into a Banbury internal mixer for initial dispersion, then passed through an open two-roll mill for final homogenization. Temperature and mixing time are recorded for batch traceability.
Step 3 — Feeding & Pre-Forming
The mixed rubber compound is extruded into strips or pre-forms that match the mould cavity dimensions. This reduces cycle time and ensures consistent fill during pressing.
Step 4 — Vulcanization (Molding)
Pre-forms are placed into heated steel moulds and cured under controlled temperature and pressure. Vulcanization time varies by product thickness and compound formulation.
Step 5 — Forming & Shaping
Freshly moulded parts are trimmed of flash, drilled for handles or holes, and inspected for dimensional accuracy. Critical dimensions are checked against go/no-go gauges.
Step 6 — Surface Treatment
Parts receive final surface finishing: sanding, logo embossing, color coating, or protective film application. Surface roughness and adhesion are tested on sample pieces.
Step 7 — Final Quality Control
Every batch undergoes tensile testing, hardness testing, and visual inspection. Random samples are aged in a heat chamber to simulate 12 months of shelf life.
Step 8 — Packaging
Approved products are packed according to customer specifications: polybags, cartons, pallet wrapping, or retail-ready displays. Cartons are labeled with SKU, batch code, and barcode.
Step 9 — Loading & Shipping
Finished cartons are palletized, stretch-wrapped, and loaded into containers. We photograph container seals and loading conditions for every shipment.
Traceability
Every production lot is traceable to raw-material batch, operator, mould number, and QC inspector. This documentation is retained for 5 years and available for buyer audits upon request.
