Quality Control & Safe Shipping

Packaging · Inspection · Loading · Better Sports

Damage during transit is one of the biggest concerns for international buyers. At Better Sports, we have developed a three-layer protection system—packaging, inspection, and loading—to ensure your fitness equipment arrives in the same condition it left the factory.

Layer 1 — Protective Packaging

Better Sports packaged fitness equipment

Packaging design is tailored to each product category:

  • Resistance bands: Individual polybags with moisture-absorbent silica gel, then packed in inner cartons with dividers.
  • Yoga mats: Shrink-wrapped with protective film, then rolled and secured with paper bands. Mats are shipped flat or rolled depending on thickness.
  • Foam rollers: Wrapped in bubble film and packed in master cartons with corner protectors.
  • Dumbbells & kettlebells: Individually boxed with foam inserts. Master cartons are reinforced with double-wall corrugated board.

Layer 2 — Pre-Shipment Inspection

Before any goods are released for shipping, they pass through our Final Random Inspection (FRI) process:

  • Sampling standard: ANSI/ASQ Z1.4, General Inspection Level II
  • AQL: 2.5 for major defects, 4.0 for minor defects
  • Tests performed: Dimensional check, weight check, color match, logo accuracy, function test, and packaging integrity

Third-party inspection by SGS, Bureau Veritas, or Intertek is available on request and typically adds 2–3 days to the schedule.

Layer 3 — Safe Container Loading

Better Sports container loading for export

Our warehouse team follows strict loading protocols:

  • Heavy items (dumbbells, kettlebells) are loaded at the bottom; light items (bands, mats) on top.
  • Cartons are stacked with interlocking patterns to maximize stability.
  • Pallets are wrapped with stretch film and secured with strapping bands.
  • Container floors are lined with protective cardboard to prevent moisture transfer.
  • White safety netting is installed across the cargo to prevent shifting during ocean transit.
  • Container seals are photographed and seal numbers are recorded on the bill of lading.

Damage Claim Process

In the rare event of transit damage:

  1. Photograph the container seals, damaged cartons, and affected products immediately upon receipt.
  2. Email the photos plus the packing list and bill of lading to your account manager within 48 hours.
  3. We evaluate the claim and typically resolve by replacement shipment or credit note within 5 business days.
